House of Sleepovers;)

So its Friday night and Katie-A and her kids, Mataya(8), Reuben(6), Naomi(4), and Kira(1) are all over for a sleepover. Jordan is out of town working so they came over to hang out. So FUN! We had perogies, sausage, and veggies for dinner. Then we watched "MEGAMIND." I give it 2 thumbs up! Hilarious, entertaining for all, and chalk full of surprises. Then Katie, Scott & I watched another movie and now its 1am....crazy! Its so nice to have them over.
Tomorrow Scott is taking the older three kids snowboarding and I am going to get blinds for the basement. We've got to decide on the green for Sinead's room, paint the hills and put up the wall decals. We're getting closer!
One thing I'm very sad about is that I just realized that my big reunion weekend with friends and family in Calgary in May is on Mother's Day weekend. So I could go and just fly home on Saturday night but then its a lot of effort and money for a super quick trip. Or we could celebrate mother's day the week before but the kids will be making their gifts for me at school the following week. The reality is I'll feel like a selfish mom if I'm not with my kids on Mother's day. I'm still debating but I'm sad!

Can it get any busier?

I just have to record this past few months because it has been crazy!
Lets start at Black Friday. I've lived in the states for 5 and a half years and had never done Black Friday shopping until this past year. I went to Old Navy at midnight and waited in line to get into the store. I shopped for an hour and a half hoping the line for the register would shorten. It didn't. It wove around the whole store. I finally got into line and waited forever. I left the store at 3:45am. Brutal. Then I went to Walmart to get this computer that was on sale but it was gone. I drove back to Spanish Fork and waited for Big 5 Sporting to open at 5am. I got some great deals there and headed for bed! It took me a week to recover from not sleeping. Totally not worth it!
December was a blur of buying and returning gifts. We asked Santa to come to our house early on December 18th. We had a wonderful early Christmas Eve and Morning. I loved it. That night I was supposed to get 800 things done and we were going to leave for Winnipeg on Sunday morning. And, of course, I got a migraine and had to head for bed. We ended up leaving Sunday night just missing a terrible storm that brought 2 feet of snow with it. Whew!
It was so nice to be home for the holidays! We had a blast! Literally a whirlwind of activities, laughing, crying and more laughing. And there was VERY LITTLE sleep!
Scott & I then went on a Five Star Painting cruise from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. It was a blast! My favorite parts were swimming with the dolphins with Shauna and going 4-wheeling on the beach and along the coast with Scott, Chad & Shauna, Katie & Jordan, James and Pasqualie. Once again, there was VERY LITTLE sleeping! Many, many thanks to Mom & Kaiti (&Justin;), Kate & Jared, and Andrea & Dave for watching our children. Our kids had more fun than we did and keep asking to go back.
Scott and I got back to Fargo, ND at midnight and then drove to 3.5 hours to Winnipeg on very bad roads! We slept at Scott's parents, woke up at 10:30am, showered and got ready and then drove around picking up our kids and visiting. We got out to my parents around 2:30pm and I started packing while Scott worked. We drove away from Hidden Valley Ranch at 5pm and got to Moosejaw, SK sometime that night late. We stayed at the Days Inn there and it was awesome! Lots of room for all of us to be comfortable which doesn't happen very often! We didn't enjoy it much as we headed for Calgary around 9am and got there around 4pm. Scott worked and the rest of us got the tour of Tannis and Shane's new home and hung out. Scott got home around 9pm and we had a good grown up visit:) We woke up and left the next morning and drove south. We got home around 11:30pm on Wednesday night. I have never done three days in a row in a car before and I hope never to do it again!
On Friday morning Janice (Scott's mom) came over for week. It was so nice to have someone here when we got home. I'm usually really sad when I get back from home. She helped a ton and I couldn't help thinking how much more love children get when their grandparents are close. While she was here we got Sinead's room decor planned and the first colour on the walls -Timid Blue - which is gorgeous! She left on the following Thursday for Hawaii with Diane & Dave, Rhett & Jake and Dave(Grandpa).
Two days before she left Collin got a really bad flu and ended up having diarhea for 5 days. On day three he was so dehydrated he almost had to go to the hospital but Nana's advice helped him get rehydrated and avoid the hopital.
On that Thursday we got 2 of Conrad & Andrea's kids while they went to Brazil. Katie & Jordan had the other two and they had a snowmobiling trip planned for Friday and Saturday so we had all four for a while. During that time I was in charge of the Pinewood Derby which was also a ward activity. CRAZY!!!
That brings us to today, Tuesday, February 1st. I currently have Tyler (6) and Cody (1). Cody started throwing up today and Collin has diarhea again. They both have fevers and runny noses and a bad cough. To top it all off Scott is working crazy long hours. Our friends Madelynne and Brad and their kids are coming to stay for the weekend on Friday which I am super excited for!
All in all, I'm actually doing quite well. After all, I am blogging right now;)
