We enjoyed Roatan Honduras on scooters. We went to a beach, had great salsa, bought palm tree salad tongs, ate iguana and heard stories of eating monkey brain in Asia from King and Shauna. And more dancing...

Today was a ship day. The Five Star guys had meetings. I did a spin class for the first time. It hurt the knees so I probably won't being doing much more of those.
Then I went and watched Scott's presentation. He did well!
Then I had lunch by the pool with Mom and Dad Abbott and some sun time with Katie, Sharon Specker and Elenor. Great times!

This was the beginning of our evening pattern: shower, get ready for dinner, go to dinner at 5:30 in the Venetian, go to the show, go dancing.

This morning I woke up and took Kieran to soccer practice in Springville. We came home at 10:00am and Kambri arrived at 10:30am to go over everything. Shauna came at 11am to pick me up to drive to the airport.

When we parked Shauna accidentally took a picture of the parking lot. At the end of the trip we joked that that was our favorite picture from the trip. Then we realized that we lost our parking lot number. But low and behold it was in that accidental picture.

Today I was outside and heard this crazy animal crying and found Boots hiding behind a tractor in the lot next door. He didn't want to come to me and he was acting very strange but after a while in the house he was ok.

I'm so relieved!!

Today I found out that someone is building a house in the lot beside us. I'm so excited!! It is a weed spreading, ugly pit that people see as they are driving up to our house. We have contemplated putting up a fence a number of times just to block the weeds and the view. Now we don't have to worry. Hurray!!

It's 4 days till I leave for the 5 star cruise. I went and got a pedicure with Katie. Joy school was cancelled so Collin came along too. He got to go on a ride after.

Today we finally had to admit that Boots our cat was really gone. We hadn't seen him since Tuesday and it has been very cold out. The animal shelter doesn't have him and no one has seen him.

We found Boots on our lot before they broke ground in the spring of 2007. He was a 'teenager' cat at the time, probably 8-10 months old.

Boots was chill. He let Aneen, Collin, cousins and friends play with him when they were young and rough. He didn't need a kitty litter. He just went to the door when he wanted out, did his business and came back in. He didn't use the garden or sand box as a litter box. No one was allergic to him. Everybody, including guests, loved him. He will be missed.

The kids have all been playing the video game "Minecraft" and they were talking about "TNT" blocks that they build with and then blow things up. That got Scott singing the song TNT by AC/DC. He was all hyped up singing it and the kids were enjoying it.

Another Joy School Day about setting and achieving goals. Today we finished our "Be Strong" goal by doing jumping jacks, running for 2 minutes, jumping, lifting 2lb weights and holding plank position for 10 seconds twice. They loved it! We also built a duplo blocks tower. Our goal was to build it as tall as Preston (because he is the tallest in class) and we built it even taller which thrilled the kids.

Last semester we did Joy School and I was ready to quit by the last time I taught in December because of how rowdy the kids had become. But now it seems they've all grown up a lot and it went really well! I love teaching JS!

Last night Liam was running home from his young men's activity at the church when he hit a patch of ice and fell face first onto the pavement. He broke half of his front tooth off.
Luckily, Nikki Welling saw it happen and texted me to see if she could help. She has worked as a dental assistant so she knew just what to do. She looked at the tooth and could tell that the root had not been exposed. Then she applied some Tamp-it to the tooth so that it wouldn't be as sensitive. As soon as she did that Liam felt WAY better. Dr. Buhler got him in at 8am this morning and by 11am he had a beautiful new tooth! Well a filling that looks like a tooth. Hurray for good dentistry!!:)

Today I taught Joy School at our house. The kids in the group are Collin Abbott, Kira Gross, Preston Jones, Morgan Oldham, and Sanders (Shenk) Daley. Today we started with sledding and playing in the snow. The day went great!

Today I had a nice morning. I woke up before everybody else (which is my favorite) and went for a walk with Miko, our dog, on the river trail. I got some beautiful pictures with my phone so it made it even more fun.

For Kieran's 9th Birthday in July we bought him Justin Bieber concert tickets. After waiting 6 months we finally got to go on Saturday, January 5th, 2013.
Kieran began to like Justin Bieber after watching his movie sometime over last year. Actually we all did. He has a great story.
Kieran started drum lessons last May, asked for an electric guitar for Christmas and still plays piano. He was really inspired by JBs talent on lots of instruments.
Going to the concert was an eye opener for Kieran though. The very very loud screaming girls and Justin Bieber's need to keep taking off his shirt so that the girls would scream louder has changed Kieran's mind about being a fan. He wanted to leave the concert early and changes the channel on the radio when a JB song comes on. I like this quality in Kieran. It means he is loyal to his gut feelings about right and wrong more than to his "heroes." This will help him through his teenage years if the hormones don't obscure it too much;)

It's always a great feeling to see your kids choose the right.

I just found the list from our New Year's Eve Party. We popped a balloon every 30 minutes until midnight. In each balloon was the activity for that time. I really liked having it planned because we did more than we would have.

I got an iPhone the beginning of December. I have had a droid before that. I love the look and feel of the iPhone but I miss things like being able to watch videos made with flash and being able to buy my music on my phone from Amazon mp3. Apple doesn't like both those companies so I have to suffer:(

Swimming at the hotel

New Year's Day!!

Scott took Liam and Kieran snowboarding while Sinead, Aneen, Collin and packed up and drove to the Marriott Residence Inn in Sandy, Utah. We went swimming tons, played the Game of Life, watched tv, had toasted sandwiches for dinner in our kitchenette, and swam some more.

It was so nice to get away for a little bit and enjoy each other's company.

We had Katie and Jordan, Mataya, Reuben, Naomi, Kira, and Norah over for New Year's Eve. So much fun!!
